Celebrate
Simchat Torah At Beit Tikvah
Friday October 17, 2003
7:30 p.m.
Simhat Torah is celebrated at the end of Sukkot,. This joyous festival
marks the completion of the annual cycle of Torah readings and the beginning
of the new cycle. We celebrate the continuity of the Torah in Jewish life
and acknowledge our appreciation for the joy it brings to us.
In keeping with tradition - Jews attend synagogue to participate in the
procession of the Torah. The Torah is carried throughout the sanctuary
to give congregants the opportunity to show their love and respect. Traditionally
children parade behind the Torah carrying flags, apples and candles. Songs
are sung and in many synagogues there is joyous dancing.
Join us for a joyous rollicking child-friendly service in which we will
completely unroll the Torah scroll, finish the annual cycle of reading
the Torah, and then In the Beginnig start a new annual cycle
of the Torah Reading. This will be followed singing and dancing with the
Torah to celebrate the event.
Beit Tikvahs
own Ruach Band will be there to supply the music
Please bring a Dessert and a bottle of juice or soda or shnapps
for the oneg after the service.
