Introducing Kol Hano'ar: The Siddur and the Service

Join us for our third season of Kol HaNoar: Voice of Youth.

2007-2008 Dates: November 16, December 22, January 19, February 16, and March 22 at 10:00am

This has been a wildly successful opportunity for young people to get to know the Shabbat morning service and have lots of fun doing it.

The service begins with the young people marching with Torahs, so that they become familiar with the sanctuary and the Torahs themselves. It continues with an opportunity to perform a relevant, but comical, interpretive skit of the week's Torah portion. We close with a spirited, movement filled, energetic morning service.

The program is geared toward our elementary-aged children, but all are welcome. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult. If you don't join us for our service, be sure and join us for the performance in the main sanctuary. It will leave you laughing and thinking at the same time.

The exact timing is as follows:

10:00 am (Moadon) - Shabbat Morning Players prepare (parts given out by 10:15, so come early if you want one)

10:30 am (Moadon) - Shabbat Morning Players rehearsal

11:00 am (Sanctuary) - Torah Parade

11:15 am (Sanctuary) - Shabbat Morning Players Performance

11:30 am - 12:00 noon - Youth Service

The participants will join the sanctuary service for Adon Olam and Kiddush. Rabbi Ruth Smith is the organizer and leader of the youth service.

Parents and young people interested in helping with the planning of the services or participating in the services can call Rabbi Smith (see the Membership Directory for phone numbers) or e-mail the Beit Tikvah Office at info@BeitTikvah.org.
