Kehillah Connections Beit Tikvah is a congregation dedicated to building a strong community to provide members with individual and group opportunities to grow intellectually, spiritually and towards the greater good of our neighborhood, our city and our world. We are a rich and diverse membership, ecompassing families and single adults, and Baltimore's only Kehillah Mekabalet: a congregation that, by charter, welcomes gay and lesbian Jews. Our members are engaged with our neighboring Jewish and interfaith congregations, seeking opportunities for mutual understanding and appreciation in the wider community. Get Involved in Beit Tikvah
All of our activites at Beit Tikvah are planned and organized by the many committees our active members have created. Here are a few committees that you can join! The Kol Tikvah Choir, Intergenerational Band, and the Goldensteyn Klezmer Band are all ways to express yourself musically at services and events throughout the year. Gemilut Chesed: This committe provides loving, respectful and effective responsive ways to help members who have experienced illness or loss. If interested in joining, contact Nina Storch. Membership Committee: This committee plans social activities, such as film festivals, outings to the theater and symphony, town meetings, and new member orientations. This
committee creates ways to make our worship space more physically beautiful
and spiritually inspiring. If interested in joining,
contact Ruth Meeron. Long-Term Strategic Planning Committee: This committee is creating our congregation's plan for the future. If interested in joining, contact Ruth Meeron. Tikkun Olam Committee: This committee oversees our congregation's participation in the Baltimore Interfaith Hospitality Network. This is an interfaith effort to transition needy families into permanent housing. The committee also plans social action events, such as participating in the Baltimore Peace Path, and joining neighborhood clean-ups. If interested in joining, contact Janet Felsten. Adult Education Committee: This committee plans adult educational events for the congregation. They plan Hebrew language classes, the Bagels and Books club, and other adult offerings.
