The Bonnie London Memorial Library

The effort to create a lending library for Beit Tikvah began with member Ilene London. With her encouragement, former Beit Tikvah board president, Harry London, donated his extensive Judaica collection to us. Annette Blank added a marvelous assortment of children's and young adult books on Jewish themes. These book collections became the core of the Bonnie London Memorial Library.

Many special people gave time, energy, and materials to make this library happen. Special gratitude to hard-working volunteers Jean Cohen, Judy Jacobson, Annette Blank, Emily Blank, Eva Silversmith and BT's special friend Fern Grumbine for their efforts at organizing and cataloging our collection.

Our sadness at the loss of our member, Hope Sigler, was tinged with joy when the library inherited some of her fine Judaica books. Brenda Barrie and Sid Bursten and Jean Cohen came to the rescue by donating (and schlepping) bookcases to us. Other BT members and friends also gave books -- so many that we cannot take any more, no room! The books in the library range from classics to memoirs to fiction, and include a rare volume of Yiddish "meises" (folk tales)in English, a biography of Marc Chagall by his wife (with his drawings as illustration), and many books on aspects of Kabbalah.

The library is housed in bookcases situated along the eastern wall of the Moadon.
It is currently open to members and friends. If you would like to borrow a book, please contact Marjorie Davis and she will explain the sign out
process.
